The mural project is aiming to retrieve the nostalgic scenes to the neighborhood of the URA’s H19 area (Staunton Street, Wa In Fong and Shing Wong Street). The stairs at Shing Wong Street and Staunton Street, together with the former Bridge Street Market, this area has been bustling area in its heydays with many street hawkers and stalls being built along the streets and stairs until the demolitions and renovations of the surrounding built environment in the last decades.

The old scenes of Staunton Street, Shing Wong Street are very unfamiliar to the younger generations and new comers in this neighborhood. With the participation with King's College Old Boys' Association Primary School and community, it could help to them to visualize this ‘missing jig-saw piece’ to enrich the context and history of this area. Apart from that, since the recent openings of new tourists’ attractions like PMQ and Tai Kwun, this area becomes very popular with art community and many art galleries were established in the neighborhood. Besides these art venues, the streets are also beautified with many murals and these are also become photogenic spots and Hong Kong streets’ icons which could be found in varied social media websites. The introduction of our mural proposal could be another attraction in this area which is very different to the existing mural. Besides its vivid impact of its complexity and details, it also tells the stories of Hong Kong ‘s diminishing businesses and streetscapes which are no longer existed and unfamiliar with the local and foreign visitors.
