Jo is a multi-disciplinary architect & designer with a wide spectrum of design experiences in many sectors. He was trained at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in BA (Hon) Interior Design and Manchester School of Architecture in BA (Hon) Architecture where he had received several awards and both degrees were awarded with first class honors, including Cheung Kong Interior Design First Prize (1995), Cathay Pacific Travelling Scholarship (1996), Waly Prize - the Best Graduate (1997), Finalist in HKIA Interior Design Award (1997), the most outstanding student of Academic Year (1998-1999), Rossant Award (1999) and Nomination of RIBA bronze medal (2000). Then he received his Diploma in Architecture in the prestigious Bartlett School of Built Environment (UCL) in 2003 and started his career in the UK since. After studying and working in the UK for 12 years. He returned Hong Kong in late 2010 and started working in Aedas for 3 years and finally he had established ArchiPie Innovative in Oct 2014. In 2017, ArchiPie had submitted 3 competition entries and received 2 wins in the Dress UP Hong Kong Competition which EKEO completed in July 2017 and Choi Hung in Feb 2018. In November 2018, the Lei Yue Mun Block 7 Coffee Corner Project had won Finalists in HKIA annual awards 2018, Heritage & Adaptive Re-use and President’s Prize for project under 50M budget; the A&D China Awards 2018: Winner in Best of Remodelled Heritage Category; HKIS Building Surveyor Award 2019: Merit in Maintenance and Rehabilitation Category; Winner, ART UP Wong Chuk Hang Public Art and Mural Competition 2022. Jo is a registered architect in the UK as well as RIBA member and he has worked for many top practices in the UK and Hong Kong including SOM and Aedas. His work experiences include super high rises, master planning and urban design, commercial and mixed use, residential, transportation, education and institutional buildings. |
